As Taiwan's weather has been getting nicer and nicer I've been exploring my outdoorsy side more and more. Tom and I go out every weekend on a different day trip to explore something new. Sometimes its a beach, others its a mountain. This time was a very steep mountain called Manyueyuan Mountain or full moon mountain (滿月員山) with a sign that said "DO NOT CLIMB! This path is outside of our park, it is dangerous, has falling rocks and isn't our problem if you go up here." but clearly this path existed, was well marked and was maintained so we decided to climb it. as it turned out it was nearly vertical and required the use of ropes to ascend. Luckily ropes were provided the whole way up. This picture was taken when it was still a relaxing hike and the rope was barely needed. later the rope was 100% required. the peak was about 1000 meters in elevation and to our disappointment yielded absolutely no vantage point. Just a flat place with more trees... its ok though, it was more about the adventure than the view.
