Beautiful. Verbena bonariensis is one of my favorites! A long time ago I planted these in pretty poor soil, and they did great. Then I made the mistake of amending the soil and they got too tall, concentrating on the greenery and not so much on the bundles of the tiny sweet flowers. They make great cut flowers and even grow roots in the vase water, and seed so easily. FYI

Yeh, this is a great filler plant. If I use a good bloom oriented fertilizer they go nuts with flowers. Here in Seattle they grow like crazy regardless and reseed themselves all over the place. I have to pull out lots of these each year. Their greenery is razor sharp so you have to wear gloves, but other than that, they are easy to pull. No matter, they are worth it as the color is great, they fill gaps in the garden and they attract butterflies!
