I am not granger. I do not want to take any of his credit for this great song. It was emailed to me about a week ago by a mutual friend of ours. this is a rough cut that was recorded in his garage. It is supposed to be released in a few weeks with the proceds going to a "we bleed maroon" scholarship fund at A&M.

The song has special meaning to me for more reasons than one. My Dad is '69 and my Grandfather was '42. I'm '99 and I bleed maroon! I want this song to circle the world. I want to play it at my wedding, which is the beginning of June. Again, way to go on these lyrics. I was there at Sbisa when you sang this song at Muster this year. My husband, Joshua Frank, class of 2005, was preparing to call "Here" for his brother, Matthew Thomas Frank, class of 2007. Matt was killed on June 8th, 2006 in a car wreck at the Harvey exit (going towards Waco). There is a white cross displayed there for all to see. Howdy Ags and radio listeners in College Station and Bryan. I have a radio show on KEOS 89.1 FM in B-CS. It's called Bright Sky Radio and airs every Monday night from 7-9 PM. We are community, public, all-volunteer (as in no paid staff at all!), non-commercial radio. We are a completely independent radio station and have been run by committee for more than 12 years. Music and songs like Granger Smith's are why we got started in the first place. We play what we want to hear, and no one tells us what's in or out. I just heard "We Bleed Maroon" for the first time moments ago and found it to be totally radio-worthy. I'll share it with all the other programmers at KEOS Radio, and we'll put it in "the rotation." If you're in the area next Monday night, tune in to 89.1 FM; I'll be sure to play it on my show! Singer-Songwriter and Acoustic music are some of what we do best, and this is even better. As we like to sometimes say, "We play Country music that is too country for country radio." One of the coolest things about our station is that we have a live performance space, so I hope we can get The Granger Smith Band hooked up to play live in our studios while we send their sound out over the airwaves. In the meantime, I'll do what I can to spread the news about Granger Smith's sensational song. By the way, it hit all my Aggie buttons too. Bright Sky Aggie, '86

This is one of the best songs I've ever heard. It describes a feeling that is only felt when you have experienced being an Aggie. I lost a great friend the day Bonfire fell. I will always remember that tragic day. On a more positive note, this weekend my sister, two first cousins, and four of my closest friends will be graduating from Texas A&M. Howdy, Ags! Years before officially becoming a diploma-carrying Aggie, I liked to say "cut me, I bleed maroon", because I always wanted to be one. (I am a Legacy Ag). I surely don't "own" this phrase, because I'm sure other Aggies before me have said it - it's the way we feel. This song is definitely another Aggie classic. This is excellent. As I listen to this wonderful song I can't help but feel close to my Aggie brothers and sisters all over the world. It touches my heart in the warmest way.
