This piece really moved me. There is a lot of emotion in the 30 lines and even though I know nothing of the situation, I feel like I know who you are talking about. The song corresponded. It was mysterious and almost dark- a reflection of the feelings expressed in those 30 lines. How would the mood have changed if she hadn't pulled away? Would it lead to happiness or an increased feeling of confusion? You say she knows it's not "normal" to feel that way about a girl. What is "normal"? Based on the lines above, normal seems to be love for a man OR a woman.

I also really like the song you chose to go along with the thirty lines. It just feels like a dark and smoky room where the sexual tension is rising along with the uncertainty. I really liked your line, “She always needed a man to tell her how beautiful and sexy she was,” because I really feel that way too. For some reason, many women need a man’s opinion in order to feel like it’s true or valid. We just don’t trust our friends when they say “You’re gorgeous,” or “You’re not fat” or something along those lines. I also like how your main character feels more privately safe with her girlfriend than with her boyfriend, but when it comes to the public she feels more comfortable with her boyfriend because that’s what’s sexually acceptable. Your story is very similar to Ricky’s, however the genders are reversed.

If you don't mind my asking, how do you identify now? Did you ever pursue things with your girlfriend?

thanks for all the feedback guys it makes it a lot easier to put these things out there when your getting great responses from your peers. to answer MV questions i think the mood would have changed dramatically if i actually kissed my friend but i'm sure it would lead to more confusions. I chose to use the world normal as a representation of where i was in my life. I was only fourteen at the time and thought the most important thing in my life was to have a boyfriend. I know how that there is know definition for the word normal. For being normal is whatever you want normal to be. To answer Mandy's question- No i never pursued anything that particular girlfriend but as I got older i sexually experimented with both my male and female friends.
