William finally got his new hedgehog, after months of waiting. Meet Ambrose Thurston Thistlequill III, an Algerian grey snowflake pygmy hedgehog. He's very sweet and after only a day he's already very comfortable being handled by William. He spends a lot of the day in a snuggle sack that William wears strapped to his chest like a Baby Bjorn.

He is adorable! I can't believe there are pet hedgehogs! Is he easy to keep as a pet, and does he need a lot of attention? I can tell William is in love with this cutie!

Ambrose is adorable but needs lots of care. He climbs on his exercise wheel at night and runs and poops, runs and pees. Poop and pee, poop and pee. His wheel is in his litter box, but by morning it's a stinky mess. He's not litterbox trained yet, and still pees on his blankets. He lives in a giant tupperware (3 feet by 1.5 feet), with baby blankets, a drink bottle and food dish (plus the poopy wheel in the litter box), and has an igloo with a blanket that he sleeps in most of the day. His habitat needs to be cleaned every morning, and he needs to be cuddled and played with several times a day. He eats a mixture of high-quality cat food, plus freeze dried meal worms and a few supplements.
