Deep Lake is in Sun Lakes State Park, in the Lower Coulee, just north of Soap Lake. This is a narrow, clear, deep lake in a columnar basalt canyon. Speed limits are 5mph so there are no yahoos on jetskis, although there were a few Darwin award nominees jumping off the cliffs. We passed one other boat and two kayaks. Huge turkey vultures were soaring the updrafts at the end of the canyon. We only caught 3 small kokanee salmon and one rainbow trout, but it was so gorgeous and peaceful we would have been happy if we didn't catch anything at all.
