This registration will require a user name, password, contact details, and security code.
Manage your account

To delete your account, sign in, and use Account on the top navigation bar. Locate Terminate account box on the page and use Continue with account termination. Share profile and settings
Your Share profile contains information displayed when anyone looks at your profile.
To edit your profile, use Profile on the left column and then choose Edit Profile just below your profile photo space. You can choose who can see your activity, contact information, and other information. For each of these, you can choose from: only me (private), my contacts only, all members, or anyone (public).
Also on the Edit Profile page, you can set how Ovi notifies you about account activity. Choose to receive notifications when other members share with you, send messages, or comment on your media. You can receive these alerts with your Share inbox or other e-mail.
In the Share settings area, you can see and change your upload secret word. When you register, Ovi automatically generates a secret word that is used in the e-mail upload addresses of each of your albums. When you change this word, you change the upload secret word for your albums.
When your upload secret word is changed, the guest upload secret words for your albums are not affected. Album-specific secret words are changed on the album settings page.
For more information about e-mail uploading, see Upload Media files through E-mail.

Search
The search field is at the top of every page. Enter a single word or a phrase in double-quotes, for example, "New York", in the search box to find all matching media files.
View media files
Click on a thumbnail to view an image. If Ovi cannot play the file format, your browser will launch the appropriate player, if available.
View a slideshow
When you are looking at an album, select the slideshow command from the options menu or the slideshow icon on the page to start a full screen slideshow of the contents of the album.
Dealing with inappropriate files
Ovi staff does not screen content provided by users. Users flag content that is considered inappropriate. If a file is flagged by 5 or more users, Ovi Share automatically removes it from public or private viewing. The owner is notified, without disclosing the name of members who flagged the file and any comments. After the content is removed, the media file owner may appeal. We urge users to use discretion when flagging media files. Ovi Share will promptly deal with any abuse of this feature. More details are included in our Terms of Service.
Flag media files
To flag inappropriate files:
1. Click the media file thumbnail.
2. Select Report inappropriate media.
3. Select the type of media file violation.
4. Enter a comment (optional).
5. Click Report.
Media files on Ovi
Ovi supports a wide range of file types, including images, video and audio clips, and various document formats.
You can upload and share any type of supported file, but only certain types of images and video clips will display a thumbnail in the media file view. If Ovi does not recognize the file format, it is represented by an icon. When you click the icon, your browser will launch the appropriate player on your computer, if available.
To minimize the possibility of spreading viruses or harmful files, Ovi does not support executable files.
Supported file types: 3g2, 3gp, 3gp2, 3gpp, 3gpp2, aac, aif, aifc, aiff, amr, asf, asr, asx, au, avi, bmp, dib, fla, flv, gif, ico, ief, jfif, jpe, jpeg, jpg, lsf, m1a, m1v, m3u, m4a, m4p, m4v, mid, midi, mov, movie, mp2, mp3, mp4, mpa, mpe, mpeg, mpg, mpv2, mqv, ogg, png, qt, ra, ram, rm, rmi, snd, swf, tif, tiff, wav, wax, wm, wma, wmv, wmx, wpl.

640 pixels
1024 pixels
1600 pixels

print up to 12.7 x 17.8 cm (5" x 7")

Video clips
Uploading a video can be time-consuming, and require a lot of bandwidth. Since Ovi automatically compresses videos to make the online viewing experience better, there is no benefit in uploading full resolution videos.
Convert videos to smaller files before upload:
1. Load your original video clips into one of the following recommended video tools:
Windows
Windows Movie Maker 2.0 (free)
Windows Media Encoder (free)
QuickTime Pro
XiliSoft
2. Export or save your videos using these settings:
640 pixels wide

Basic upload. Select your library or an album, and use browse or choose file to select files to upload. When you have selected the files (up to five files at a time), click Upload.
Multi drag and drop upload. When you Upload, with the multiple file option you can add files or folders by dragging them onto the Image Uploader. When using this option, you can resize your images by selecting a file size from the drop-down menu.
Upload and share from your mobile phone
Using the Share Online application for your mobile device, you can share images or video clips immediately from your device. For a full list of devices that support the Share Online application, and instructions on how to install and use the software, see Uploading to Ovi with a compatible device.
Upload using e-mail
You can upload media files to your library or to a specific album by sending files as e-mail attachments. For example, if your friends send you e-mails with media files attached, you can forward those e-mails to your Share library or album for easy viewing and sharing.
To your library. To upload files to your library, e-mail files to username+secretword@share.ovi.com. Your secret word can be found under your edit profile area. This word is required in the e-mail address to prevent unwanted e-mail submissions to your account.
To an album.
To upload media files to your library and into a specific album, e-mail files to: username+albumname+secretword@share.ovi.com
To add a title to the media file, enter it in the subject line of the e-mail.
Example: If your user name is "johnd", you have an album named "travel", and your secret word is "fish", to upload media files into your travel album, send an e-mail message as follows:
To: johnd+travel+fish@share.ovi.com
Subject: A day in Rome
Attach the media files you want to upload, and send the e-mail. In this example, the media file would appear in johnd's library and his travel album with the title "A day in Rome".
Retrieve or delete media files
The original version of your media file is always available for download. Click on the media file in the Library area, and the original is displayed in your browser window. To save the media file to your PC, right-click the file, and select Save as.

Only you can see the full contents of your library, but you can share individual items with friends. This will grant them access to view and comment on those shared items.
Albums
Albums are containers that help you organise and share your media files. You can create albums based on, for example, the type of media file, or specific topics.
To create an album, click New album. Give the album a title and description, and indicate whether it is public (viewable by anyone) or private (viewable only by those you share it with). Sharing a private album will grant permission to view the contents of that album.
To add media files to an album, click into the album and use Upload.
Tags
By adding tags to your media files, you make finding the files with search easier. Tags are descriptive words or phrases that categorize an image or video clip. Click the Add button in the right column on a media page and enter words or phrases within quotes (example: "dog", "border collie"). Enter as many tags as you like separated by spaces. When viewing an item, click on a tag to view other items with the same tag.
Share media files
About sharing media files
You can share individual media files or whole albums by clicking Share on media or album pages, respectively.
Send an e-mail
You can share media files by sending an e-mail with a personal message from you to your friends. They will receive a preview email of your shared files. When they click on your media files (images and video and audio clips, for example), they will launch an Ovi webpage. Ovi registration is not required for anyone to view your shared files.
If a friend is having difficulty receiving Share e-mails, they should check the junk mail folder. Then they should add @share.ovi.com to their white list or mark the Share e-mail as "not junk" so they receive future Share e-mails.
You can share media by sending an SMS text message to a mobile device. Enter your friend's mobile number in the recipient field. Use the international format (e.g. +12125551234). A text message that includes a link to your shared album is sent to their device.
When you have shared by e-mailing or txting to your friend, you can add them as one of your contacts, so you can easily share with them again.
Embed a widget on other sites
Use the Embed function from any album or media file to embed media items or album in your blog or other website. The embed code snippet is generated and displayed. Copy and paste the code string into the destination site.
Contacts
To keep track of people you share with on Ovi, add them as contacts. Ovi uses contact information to help you when you enter names or e-mail addresses for sharing, Ovi will suggest recipients from your Contacts. From someone else's media or album page, you can click their profile photo to view their profile information. Choose the Add to contacts to make them a contact of yours.
Your Contacts' recent activity
As you build a list of contacts, the recent activity summary on the home page will summarize their uploads and comments on your files. This is a great way to keep up-to-date with images, videos, and conversations with your friends.
Messages
Messages received from Share and other Ovi members are in your messages inbox. Depending on your alerts settings (check your profile settings), messages can be sent to your regular e-mail. Your outgoing messages, such as the ones generated when you share, are under the sent tab in messages.
Add your friends as contacts
Share your media with your friends, and when they join Ovi their media updates and comments will appear on your homepage in the Recent activity summary. The more you share, the more contacts you will have and you will be able to stay up to date with their latest experiences.
