Derek Brenden Smith was born at 10:11am on the 1st of March 2007. He was 7lbs 10oz and 19 1/2 in long. Very healthy color with bright lively eyes. I'm very proud of the bravest woman I've ever met; my Wife. I love you both.

This clip should be titled "What Not To Do". I missed by trowing my arrow low and left, I didn't have a second arrow ready for a second chance shot, and I didn't have my call set for a doe grunt and it was partially frozen stiff. This was a humbling day in the woods and I'm a little wiser afterwards. I guess we all miss now and then, but it's a bitter pill to swallow. I guess this will just encourage me to shoot better next year.

On a good note; it was a great stand. I saw a lot of action out of the same stand all year. With a recurve you have to wait for a close shot like this one and they seem to be far and few between when your hunting in deep woods like here is PA. Great season over-all and I'm a better hunter because of my failures. I'll keep taping and you should do the same. I hope you all get out there and I hope I don't see you out there. Have a great hunt.

These are some of Aidans first steps. He's still a little wobbley, but he's well on his way to being a sprint champ like his Dad. His Dad Chris is in Iraq but will be home soon. This short clip is for you Chris. Can't wait to see you again. Enjoy this clip and the other videos we sent for you and get home as soon as you can. Here is another video of the kid. He's doing great; peeing and such. Each night he sleeps a little longer between nursing sessions. Mandi is doing great with him and I wish I could do more, but without the anatomy there isn't much I can do for him.

Derek is 20 days old as of the 20th (I'm glad his B-day is gonna be easy to remember). Call Mandi lots and email if you want anything. We'll see you all on Easter.
