I’m a film maker and pioneering mobile video blogger. Have a look at my Top 10 videos page at http://twittervlog.tv for an introduction to what I do with shooting, cutting and posting films on my Nokia N93. I used to make proper short films, with crews, on real film. I even made some shorts for TV. I won some awards. It makes my bum go tight when I hype myself. I stopped making films a few years ago, even though I loved shooting and cutting stuff. I just couldn’t see the point in trying to make artificial little stories that would go off to tiny film festivals and then sit on a shelf for the rest of their life. Particularly since the only shorts that would get funded were what the Film Council classified as “Extreme” cinema, or films about social issues. The synopsis for the last film for which I got grant funding began thus: “Krishna, a 23 year female Asian philosophy student, argues about Hindu philosophy with her working class colleage Sheila, while they work in the announcement booth at East Croydon Station.” I won a lot of awards for that one. It led to some short documentaries for Channel 4 called “The Real Bridget Jones”. So I started working for my dad’s aluminium company. I didn’t really have very much to do. I made films on my office webcam. I emailed them around to my friends. About a year and a half later, March 2005, I finally got round to setting up a videoblog called WorkingForMyDad.com so that I could post them on the web. I was still working for my dad. Dark days. But the best films I ever made. Then I got hooked on videoblogging. I set up another videoblog called FatGirlinOhio.org (after Coppola’s quote about the future of filmmaking). I got involved in the videoblogging community. I’d never experienced anything like it. Suddenly I was making friends with other videobloggers, filmmakers and video artists all over the world. I have always been a photagrapher (and a painter) and I love all kinds of pictures. Photos is something very special phenomen, it makes true pictures from the reality. Only photos can do that. You should look at my photos as an attempt to make an exact copy of the reality as my eyes see it. I want to show you with my pictures what my eyes has seen, like a reporter, and I certainly hope I can bring something to you, something new, something you have never seen before. If I can reach just one person, with a message carried out by my pictures, then my purpose is prefilled. My greatest inspiration is other photagrapher´s pictures. When I think of how many photos there are in the whole world ... they are plenty! I would like to know what you think of my pictures, so, please, tell me by making a comment to one, or more, of my pics. You can write anything you like, as long as it is your true opinion. Be hard on me, please! If you think it´s a bad picture, then say it. I will respect everything you think.
