This was a couple years ago. If you look closely you can see in the background that the airfield has been destroyed by the volcano. I understand that the new airfield has now opened, which beats the airfoil ferry ride from Antigua.

The entire crew in St. Maarten, me on the right. The Loterie Farm is a restaurant and zip-line facility well off the beaten track on the French side. The name is from the fact that a fellow won it in a lottery about 200 years ago. I think it has the best food on the island, which is saying a lot considering the competition from world-class french restaurants in the town of Grand Case.

Here a lava formation jutted out from the beach a hundred yards or so, and made a 'wall' where the water went down about 20 feet to a sandy coral bottom. We were warned that there were photoshop sharks in the area, but I never saw any....
